Peripheral Neuropathy
Edmontonians should be able to walk, hike, golf, and dance without pain
Acupuncture stops peripheral neuropathy
Peripheral neuropathy is a painful condition caused by nerve damage in the arms and legs. This damage often results in symptoms such as pain, numbness, tingling, muscle weakness, loss of balance, and reduced sensation.
Without proper treatment, peripheral neuropathy can worsen over time and, in many cases, become permanent. However, with targeted care, these symptoms can partially or fully resolve.
At Accessible Acupuncture in Edmonton, we use acupuncture for peripheral neuropathy by promoting nerve healing. This safe and effective approach helps stop numbness, reduce tingling, and eliminate pain, allowing you to regain mobility and improve your quality of life.

Effects of Peripheral Neuropathy
Edmontonians have been experiencing the painful side effects of peripheral neuropathy. Their legs and feet are in unbearable pain. Edmonton’s very own Doctor of Acupuncture, Dr. Melanie Morrill Ac. is working to stop peripheral neuropathy pain and chronic pain to ensure that everyone can walk, golf, hike, dance, live, and play with their grandkids without pain.
Peripheral neuropathy is the pain, discomfort and numbness caused by nerve damage to the peripheral nervous system. People find that daily tasks like opening doors and using the washroom are overwhelmingly painful.
For people who have never experienced peripheral neuropathy, the way patients describe it, it’s like walking on sharp gravel. Folks sometimes even avoid socks and wear oversized shoes so that nothing “touches” their feet.
Unfortunately, this story is all too familiar for the thousands of people in Canada suffering from peripheral neuropathy.
If you’re unfortunate enough to be facing the same disheartening prognosis; you’re not sleeping at night because of the burning in your feet; you have difficulty walking, shopping, you’re struggling with balance and living in fear that you might fall; you may have been told to, “just live with the pain”, and you are taking medications that just aren’t working or have uncomfortable side effects.
Treatment Options
Fortunately, there are effective treatment options for peripheral neuropathy without invasive surgery or medication.
Doctor of Acupuncture, Dr. Melanie Morrill Ac., founder of Accessible Acupuncture in Edmonton, AB, is here to help. She uses the time-tested science of acupuncture that treats peripheral neuropathy by increasing blood flow, enhancing nerve conductivity, and activating the body’s natural healing capacity.
After acupuncture, many patients report when they go to bed at night they don’t have shooting pains, burning sensations, or pain coming up their legs.
Dr. Morrill Ac. has been helping the senior community for over five years with a special interest in chronic pain and helping people who have been deemed ‘hopeless’ or ‘untreatable’.
What was once a missing link in senior health care is now easily accessible to the residents of the greater Edmonton area. If you have been missing too many tee times because of your pain or you’ve passed on dancing because you’re afraid of falling, it’s time to call Dr. Melanie Morrill Ac. and the staff at Accessible Acupuncture.

I have been suffering from Peripheral Neuropathy 24/7, for the past 6 years , as a result of Chemotherapy. After trying medications and other consultations , which was showing no signs of relief , I was recommended to try acupuncture . At first I was a skeptic, then thought , why not , it’s worth a try. I researched and luckily found Dr. Melanie Morrill , a well qualified and knowledgeable Dr. of Acupuncture.
I arranged a consultation , had an assessment done . The caring professionalism and positive reinforcement from Dr. Morrill soon took my skeptism away and after discussion , was set up with a 6 month plan of treatment 2-3 times/ week. I am happy to report that after only 1 month there are positive indicators of being on the road to a better quality of life , not only for me but my family as well.
To make my life even easier , my follow up appointments were set in place for the duration of my treatment plan, with the option to cancel if necessary. Takes the frustration of attempting to book appointments. I would also like to acknowledge the two wonderful ladies working in Dr. Morrill’s office , Felicity and Beth . They greet you with a smile and immediately puts you at ease.
Thank you !!!!!!
